Participant holding PRC Passport will need a special visa to enter Taiwan. Please contact our staff for the application process and application form. It will take at least 6 weeks for the application. Please act as soon as possible.

A Taiwan visa affixed in a valid passport is required of those wanting to enter Taiwan unless you meet the requirements for Visa Exempt Entry. For the details of Visa application, please visit Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan).


If you hold the passport from the following countries, you will be eligible for visa-exempt entry: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands , New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A.

To enter Taiwan without a visa you must meet the following requirements:

  •  A passport valid for at least 6 months;

  •  A confirmed return air/steamer ticket or an air/steamer ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed air/steamer seat reservation for his/her departure;

  •  No criminal record as verified by the airport or seaport police;

  •  Stay of up to 14 days, starting from the day of arrival (no extension is permitted);

  •  Arrive at one of the following locations: C.K.S. International Airport, Kaohsiung International Airport, Keelung Harbor, Hualien Harbor, Taichung Harbor, and Kaohsiung Harbor.




* Transportation:

To travel to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, you may have the following two alternatives:
  • Fly to Kaohsiung International Airport, Taiwan (KHH):
There are flights from many Asia cities and United States to KHH, including Hong Kong, Soul, Tokyo, Singapore, Los Angles, San Francisco, etc.
  • Fly to TaoYuan International Airport, Taiwan (TPE) and transfer to Kaohsiung by air, taxi or high speed train:
TaoYuan International Airport is the major international airport in Taiwan. You can fly from all over the world to this airport. More than 48 airline companies serve to this ariport.

After landing TPE, you will need to transfer to Kaohsiung.
  • By Air:
Several airline companies do provide connection flights to KHH. (EVA airline and China airlines for example) You may want to book the connection flights when you book your trip to Taiwan.
  • By Taxi:
In TaoYuan Airport,  you can also hire a taxi to Kaohsiung. However, it may take 4 to 5 hours to reach KaoHsiung, depending on the traffic on highway.

Taxis are available at Taoyuan Airport 24 hours a day. Airport taxis charge according to the meter in addition to a 50% surcharge (highway tolls not included) and provide transport to anywhere in Taiwan. (A typical taxi fare to Taipei is approx. NT$1,100.)

Taxi queues are outside the Arrival Halls of both terminals. To ensure the safety of passengers, only the taxis approved by the Aviation Police Bureau are permitted to operate in Taoyuan Airport.

  • By High Speed Train:
The newly completed modern Taiwan High Speed Rail now offers the high speed train services along the west coast of Taiwan. It will take 1 hours 48 minutes to reach KaoHsiung city. The cost of one-way ticket is NT$1,330 (approximately US$40.)

After picking up you luggages, you need to find the ground transportation to the THSR station.
    1. Taxi: 15 minutes, NT$300 to 350 (cash only.)
    2. Bus: 15 minutes, audule single fares NT$30 (cash only.) The bus runs for every 15 to 20 minutes, from 6:20 to 22:20. Find the bus stop on the bus platform.
      1. Terminal I Bus Platform: On the southwest side of the Arrival Passenger Reception Area.
      2. Terminal II Bus Platform: On the northeast side of the Arrival Passenger Reception.
Then, you will take the train to ZhoYing Station (in KaoHsiung City), the terminal station. You can find the time table at THSR web site.
